Bishop Briggs the British singer, songwriter, and musician and known Philly favorite brought her Champion tour to The Fillmore. The concert featured many songs from her forthcoming album Champion via Island Records on November 8. Who needs a Peloton bike, just attend a Bishop Briggs show and try to keep up? The pixie with an edge uses the entire stage with a massive high energy performance.
Briggs with new hairstyle, made the decision to shave her head in support of a friend undergoing chemo. The stage had a very minimalist vibe with the band positioned behind massive LED screens which ran the length of the stage. The visuals changed in unison with each song making each song seem like a live music video. The crowd which has loved Briggs for many years were very appreciative of the energetic performance. Briggs after the first song expressed her excitement for being back in Philly and spoke at length before cutting herself off and said, “let’s get back to the show.”
The set list included both new and old with a sprinkling of songs from the upcoming release, including Champion, Tattooed On My Heart, Someone Else, JEKYLL & HIDE, and an impressive mashed up of 21 Pilots/Panic! at the Disco/My Chemical Romance song.
