Austin Bis of Magic Giant performing in Philadelphia

Magic Giant, who has been voted the top concert to see in many cities across the country visited Philadelphia recently.  The band is known for their musical mastery, high energy performances, and connecting with the audience which was very evident tonight.  Austin, Zambricki, and Brian jumped and danced around the Theatre of The Living Arts with front man Austin Bis even performing a balancing act as he sang and walked along the edge of the PIT railing. I counted Austin either in the audience or along the front row over 10 times literally singing along with many of the fans.

The band which formed in 2012 features Austin Bis on lead vocals, keyboards and percussion, Zambricki Li on banjo, fiddle and harmonica, and Brian Zaghi on upright bass and acoustic guitar.  The band did have support players on electric bass, and full drum kit which created a massive wall of sound. While the band is very popular with the festival crowd, this was an intimate setting which allowed the audience to take in the full Magic Giant experience.  Touring behind their latest release In The Wind, their set list included top hits “Set On Fire, and “Window”. Tonight’s performance was full of positiveness as the venue was filled with many happy smiling faces.  The musicianship of the trio is off the charts as the three were all over the stage playing many different instruments, even entering a drum battle as Austin and Brian stared each other down while not missing a rhythmic beat to the song.
