As Johnny Rzeznik and Robby Takac along with supporting band mates took the stage, the crowd was ready to go down memory lane at 100MPH!!! The Goo Goo Dolls most popular in the 90’s and 00’s haven’t lost a step and if anything may have a few steps on the audience of the same age group. Rezenik was full of energy and when not in a zone playing a note on his ever-changing guitars, he has a perpetual grin on his face. He truly appreciated the audience and the reciprocated the same feeling.
Due to the open tuning for the Goo Goo Doll songs Rzeznik was changing guitars every song to a busy guitar tech. Switching between acoustic and electric guitars, a highlight of the set was when the house went dark during “Black Balloon”, and the inside of the venue filled with black balloons which dancing musically over the crowd bringing an added crowd participation to the song. They closed the set with two of their biggest hits “Iris” and “Broadway”.
