In what was basically a “hometown” show, Halestorm packed roughly 5500 fans into the Santander Arena in Reading, PA. Singer Lzzy Hale, her brother Arejay (drums), guitarist Joe Hottinger and bassist Josh Smith first started performing in 1997 as teenagers. Through the years they have climbed to the top of most modern rock/metal charts and have several #1 hits.
This tour which features 3 other rock/metal bands that are also fronted by female vocalists. In support of Halestorm is In This Moment, New Years Day and Stitched Up Heart. For what may be the first tour of its kind for the genre it unites two powerhouses in Halestorm and In This Moment with two other female fronted bands on the rise.
Halestorm absolutely tore it up. Their sound mix and lighting display is unmatched. Lzzy vocals very well may be not only the best female voice in rock, but one of the best in all of rock. In a very intimate moment, Hale took to the piano to cover Adele’s “Someone Like You” in which believe it or not, I liked Lzzy’s rendition better.
This nationwide tour runs through August. I highly recommend getting there early and taking in all 4 bands. Halestorm puts on a world class show running roughly an hour and fifteen minutes.
