I Prevail rocks the Electric Factory in Philly

I Prevail celebrates the win in Philly

On the same night that I Prevail’s “Alone” won Loudwire’s Hard Rock Song Of The Year award, the band celebrated in Philadelphia.   The band delivered a blistering set which had the mosh pits and crowd surfing at an all-time high for style, frequency, and enthusiasm. Hailing from the Motor City, I Prevail consists of Brian Burkheiser [clean vocals], Eric Vanlerberghe [harsh vocals], Steve Menoian [guitar], Dylan Bowman [rhythm guitar], with Eli Clark [bass], and Gabe Helguera [drums].  However, on this night Brian was not preset due to an illness which needed attention, so Dylan did double duty.  I Prevail has seen great success recently covering Taylor Swift’s “Blank Space” which sold 500,000 plus singles, and generated over 50 million views on YouTube and 30 million-plus Spotify streams. The new Loudwire award can sit next to the awards they already won from the Detroit Free Press, Kerrang, AXS, Billboard, and Alternative Press.

But on this night, there was a score to settle. Poised in the middle of the stage a wrestling ring housed the drum kit, a great touch to the aptly named Rage On The Stage Tour.  When asked why the band had a ring on the stage, Eric said “because we fucking wanted to, that’s why”. The theme of the night took on a WWE vibe with wrestling style introductions, they even brought up someone from the audience who was the biggest self-proclaimed A-hole in Philly.  The fan got on stage and lip-synced mocked insults to the crowd from a member of the band, which the crowd ate up.  The band mentioned how many times they passed through Philly loving it every time.  At one point in the set, Dylan and Eric entered the ring after shit talking to each other.  The Rocky theme started over the PA system, as the lights went dark the two band members lunged towards each other. The evening ended with both steam columns rising on the stage and paper confetti filling the venue as the crowd gave their last bit of energy to the band in appreciation. The Set list included; Come and Get It, RISE, Stuck in Your Head, Love, Lust and Liars, Pull the Plug, Get Low (Lil Jon cover), Outcast, Shots (LMFAO cover), Chaos, Worst Part of Me, Eye of the Tiger/Blank Space (Mini performance), Already Dead, Lifelines.  The Tour continues through the beginning of December.
