Michael McDonald, the five-time Grammy Award winner brought a soulful launch to the Christmas season in Bucks County, Pa. with his Season of Peace, Holiday and Hits Tour at the Parx Casino® Friday, November 30, 2018. Opening with mandolin and accordion, Michael launched right into the Holiday theme of the show, with Christmas favorites like “White Christmas/Winter Wonderland,” “Oh Holy Night,” “Children Go Where I Send Thee” and a new version of “Winter Wonderland.” Although usually positioned behind the piano, this was a fantastic way to display Michael’s music talent beyond tickling the ivory. The setlist was perfectly blended well as the flow of the show included traditional holiday hits, new music from the recent release, Michael’s solo work, and of course some Doobie Brothers’ classics.
It was great to see the full captivation of the crowd throughout the evening I saw the crowd go from dancing in their seats during a swinging version of “”Yah Mo B There”, swaying their hands during “On My Own”, to complete silence during some of the holiday tunes. The band includes Eric Cystal – Sax/keyboards (Boz Scaggs), Jacob Lowery – Bass, vocals & harmonica, Pat Coil – Keyboards, Drea Rhenee’ – Vocals & percussion, Dan Needham – Drums & percussion, Bernie Chiaravalle – Guitar & vocals. The tour continues throughout December, I would highly recommend you enjoy an evening out to just let go and pick up the new release to add some flavor over the holidays to your parties over this season.
