As the smoke machines were kicked into overdrive, Alex Kopp started the looping vibe as the rest of Third Eye Blind walked out on stage. Unlike previous stage productions with the band starting in silhouette, the band were out in front and ready to rock, jumping right into “Thanks a Lot.”
The set list was a blend of new and old, which bounced around the band’s entire catalog and included many songs from the new release Screamer. The stage production was over the top with a visual journey to match the music.
Frontman/vocalist/guitarist Stephan Jenkins used the whole stage and was in a zone as he visited each band member and added some visual enchantments to the lyrics. The crowd was eating up the performance and may were screaming (literally) the lyrics to create a sing-along. It’s been a long time since 1997, but for one night, we all were able to revisit our youth, and leave with new music as a bonus!!!
